About the Company

Our client grows numerous varieties of table grapes including red, green and black seedless varieties available for domestic and export markets. Our clients pick and ship organic red seedless grapes to markets from January to May. 

 

About the role

Focused on the management of day-to-day horticultural operations of the table grape property and some citrus. 

You will have significant industry experience, with excellent time management skills. A key ability is to generate best practice table grape management plans by market segment and variety segment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain best practice grape production
  • Horticultural focused planning, budgeting and staff management
  • Management of staff and casual labour
  • Management and completion of all horticulture operations
  • Application of strong best practice IPM management suite
  • Maintenance of all farm infrastructure, including trellis, irrigation equipment, sheds, buildings, fences to a high standard
  • Management of servicing and maintenance of farm P & E
  • Flexible attitude towards heavy workloads
  • Involvement in the complete table grape value chain

 

Education / Experience / Skills 

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the management of table grape production
  • Highly developed applicable agronomic skills
  • Knowledge of the table grape cycle
  • HACCP trained 7 familiar with Freshcare
  • A strong understanding of farm machinery and operational capabilities
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently and within a team
  • Current valid driver’s license, forklift license and Chemcert accreditation
  • Strong work ethic and exceptional attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Tertiary qualification in Agriculture / horticulture / viticulture highly regarded
  • Technical knowledge relevant to table grape crop production
  • Hands-on ability to independently work on farm when required
  • Current HR license
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to identify, analyse and improve processes

Remuneration Information

Fulltime role - $75k - $100 K p.a. + superannuation + work ute
